Collaboration, Ongoing Assistance, Opportunities for Growth and Sustainability, and Practices Based on Evidence (CO-OP)

The Academic Alliance of South Carolina (AASC) Collaboration, Ongoing Assistance, Opportunities for Growth and Sustainability, and Practices Based on Evidence (CO-OP) is a collaboration between local education agencies (LEAs) and the Alliance to accomplish shared goals.

This is a graphic of AASC's CO-OP headline.

In forming a cooperative relationship with LEAs, AASC can support LEAs in the implementation of evidence-based strategies to improve outcomes for students with disabilities through the following supports:

  • Collaboration in identifying the contextually relevant needs for the LEA, informing AASC of the effectiveness of the technical assistance, and developing tools and resources together for dissemination.
  • Ongoing assistance to LEAs by providing consultation and brokering services
  • Opportunities for growth and sustainability by strengthening the capacity and infrastructure of the LEA through training, coaching, and networking opportunities.
  • Identifying practices based on evidence and providing professional learning opportunities provided by trained by national and state experts that include guidelines for implementation.
