Amy Holbert is a Licensed Independent Social Worker of Clinical Practice (LISW-CP), is the Chief Executive Officer of Family Connection of S.C. Ms. Holbert has over twenty-five years of experience working in a variety of clinical, policy and leadership positions primarily in the field of maternal child health.
Ms. Holbert currently serves on the national Board of Directors for Parent-to-Parent USA, and is S.C.’s Family State Representative for the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs, where she also provides consultation for the national health policy committee. Ms. Holbert is Governor appointed to the SC’s Interagency Coordinating Council and serves as Co-Chair of SC’s Advisory Council for Educating Students with Disabilities. She is appointed by the State Director for the Department of Health and Human Services, to the Medical Care Advisory Council for the agency. In her five years as CEO at Family Connection of S.C., Ms. Holbert has more than doubled the organization’s budget. In addition, Ms. Holbert speaks at the national level on best practices in nonprofit management, leadership, and program implementation.
She was recently selected as an ARPY Ambassador for the Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center for U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education. Her current work on the Children’s Justice Act Task Force, is focused on improving identification of children in foster care that have a disability and providing professional development for child welfare employees on best practices in working with children and youth with disabilities.
Amy is passionate about improving the lives of children and their families. She approaches her work through the lens of being a parent, having navigated the healthcare and educational systems for her two sons with medical and behavioral health needs.
