EBPN: The S.L.O.T. Strategy: An Evidence Based Practice

Students need practice to retain information. Spaced Learning Over Time (SLOT) can be used school-wide to increase academic achievement. SLOT is an instructional strategy that breaks up study/learning sessions over time to improve long-term memory. Delaying reviews of previously learned material actually increases learning efficiency (IES Practice Guide, 2007, September).  Join Dr. Paul Riccomini as he provides some essential tips when implementing the S.L.O.T. strategy, along with Dr. Quattlebaum and Dr. Jenkins from the Aiken County School District. They will share their experience working with schools to implement the SLOT strategy.
