Join Jennifer and Susan as they share how instructional routines can be a time saver for teachers and make learning easier for students. Instructional routines are teaching behaviors that can be used repeatedly when presenting new content or providing practice for students. The format is the script used for the task (decoding, vocabulary, solving word problems, etc.). When teachers use instructional routines, it reduces the cognitive load for students, enabling them to concentrate on the content to be learned. Jennifer will provide examples from her classroom, and participants will gain ideas to incorporate into their own classrooms.
