Presenter: Dr. Alisa Lowrey

Participants in this workshop will actively explore utilizing the UDL framework to design and implement instruction built on evidence-based practices that support all students. Additionally, we will discuss how to incorporate specially designed instruction within a UDL-designed instructional environment. A tool for formative measurement of classrooms will be presented. The workshop will end with a blueprint for implementation and an action plan specific to individual educators/ administrators. This will set the stage for future coaching.

About Dr. Alisa Lowery

Dr. Lowery is an internationally known special educator with 30+ years of experience working in inclusive classrooms with individuals with developmental disabilities including autism. Her research includes (a) teacher education, professional development, and evaluation, (b) inclusive educational practices including the application of Universal Design for Learning, (c) designing quality, individualized curricula. Dr. Lowrey currently serves as the Edward A. & Mary Lou Otting Chair in Intellectual Disabilities at Indiana University.
