Writing standards-aligned individualized education program (IEP) goals begins with aligning instruction with the standards for students based on their current present levels of academic achievement and functional performance. This document is intended to guide teams through the process of developing standards-aligned instruction and the goals to measure progress toward meeting those standards for students with disabilities participating in the South Carolina College and Career Ready standards, rather than the alternate achievement standards. There are resources for IEP teams to use as a part of this process.
